HEPATO2021, the annual congress organised by the Brazilian Society of Hepatology (SBH), gathered no less than 1,200 participants for its first 100% online edition.

During the 4-day programme, participants connected to the platform to follow some of the 300 selected abstracts organised in 5 rooms, 10 Symposia, and online hands-on activities. The objective of this year’s 100% virtual event was to raise at least 50% sponsorship revenues compared to previous editions held in a physical format. To achieve this, MCI, with the support of SBH’s President, had to identify relevant scientific themes that would encourage sponsors to participate.

Two new sponsors have been recruited through the new virtual environment. And two additional sponsors took the opportunity to launch their products during the congress, which resulted in a 100% increase in sponsorship revenues, exceeding the initial target.
