An association serving data management professionals faced major organizational challenges, including high staff turnover and an overreliance on contractors, leading to undefined roles and responsibilities. Additionally, the board was consumed by administrative duties, hindering their ability to provide strategic and innovative leadership.
With a need for a clear staffing structure that included a new executive director, the association turned to MCI USA’s Advisory Services team for expert consultation. Without this new staffing model, the association risked remaining stagnant, unable to execute strategic initiatives that would lead to long-term success.
The Results: An Expertly Crafted Strategic Staffing Framework
MCI USA developed a comprehensive staffing model for the association. The plan was comprised of more than 40 pages that identified key skills for the executive director role, outlined job descriptions for the executive director and other critical positions, and provided a compensation structure tailored to the association’s size and needs. The MCI USA team engaged with current staff, vendors and the board to ensure a holistic understanding of the organization’s needs and future aspirations. In addition, we collaborated with our internal experts with specialized human resources knowledge to integrate best practices and innovative solutions into the staffing model.
The new model equipped the association with the tools to immediately recruit for essential positions, enabling them to start posting job openings as soon as the plan was finalized. This strategic direction not only prepared them for immediate recruitment but also positioned them for long-term organizational effectiveness.
