Record Attendance at EPA 2025 Congress: Innovation, Inclusion, and Responsiveness
Held from April 5 to 8, 2025, the EPA 2025 Congress in Madrid was a landmark event for the European psychiatric community, bringing together professionals from around the world. The congress showcased the latest advancements in clinical treatment, inclusive care approaches, and policy engagement. Due to exceptionally high attendance, overflow solutions had to be implemented quickly, including the strategic use of ePoster stations to manage crowd flow and ensure optimal access to key content.
A joint symposium co-organized by the EPA, GAMIAN-Europe, EUFAMI, and WONCA was one of the highlights of the congress. This session brought together the perspectives of patients, caregivers, and primary care providers, reinforcing a vision of integrated and inclusive mental healthcare. This approach aligned closely with the EPA's broader mission of promoting cross-sector collaboration.
Several sessions explored the growing role of psychiatrists in shaping public health policies. Participants received practical tools for advocacy, reducing stigma, and communicating effectively with the media. This strong policy component positioned EPA 2025 not only as a scientific congress but also as a platform for influence and leadership in mental health across Europe.
The congress also highlighted groundbreaking developments such as psychedelic-assisted therapies and precision psychiatry based on neuroimaging and bioinformatics. These presentations sparked dynamic exchanges and further established EPA as a catalyst for cutting-edge psychiatric research.
