Helping a show change course

When MCI USA was hired to run the OCEANS Conference & Exposition’s North American show, there was a lot of work to do: Revenue and attendance were falling, key sponsors and exhibitors felt alienated, and thought leadership was starting to lag. 

MCI USA brought the show back by building a collaborative partnership with OCEANS’s all-volunteer leadership; delivering turnkey conference management, including event production, housing and registration logistics, and marketing; integrating exhibit sales and sponsorships; and revitalizing the exhibit hall with marquee-name exhibitors, social functions, and a glass-walled content theater. 

  

Results: 

  • Within a year, attendance went from 800 to more than 1,800 delegates, revenue increased by 110%, and the number of exhibitors grew by 30%. 
  • Our marketing campaign generated more than a half-million impressions and nearly 13,000 clicks. 
  • In post-event surveys, more than 90% of attendees said OCEANS was a valuable use of their time and resources.
